Why don't Presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
*system of a down

Well, it's coming to a head
Like a huge zit that needs to be popped!
Indictments being handed out
Lies coming to surface
A huge pimple
staring us all in the face

They made up all this shit
Saddam wanting to buy uranium
The Ambassador going to Africa to find out for himself
Discovering that NO Saddam had no ties with Nigeria
He had not attempted to buy WMD
The Ambassador is going to write what he has found
The Bush Boys putting an end to it

Quickly
Anyway they knew how
Expose his wife
A CIA agent
A undercover woman
who has given years of service to this country
Now all know who she really is
Exposing her and endangering her life
They don't care
Must keep the lies secret
Must do anything to spread their deceit

The zit is about to be popped
Squeezing the lies
Oozing out for all to see
Exposing the men who are responsible
For 2,000 Americans killed in the senseless war
thousands of Iraqi civilians killed, bombed
cities shredded, lost artifacts thousands of years old
At the hands of the Bush Boys

Banana Bread

At my house there was almost an entire bunch of banana's that no one had ate that were turning brown by the second! So I made sure I picked up some quick bread mixes at the store and some chocolate chips! So as soon as my kids see the mixes they ask, "are you going to make the banana bread? Can we make the banana bread?" Sure, go ahead.

So they are smashing the banana's in the bowl, they both want a turn to smash!! Then getting all the ingredients together, my 10 yr old was reading the muffin recipe and put in too many eggs! Don't worry, they'll be fine! My 14 yr old spilled in the entire bag of chips, she was supposed to only use half a bag! They fight over who gets to pour the batter in the pan! I tell them, Calla can pour half, then Ricky can finish it up! We get it in the oven to bake....Then the "I get the first piece" starts!!! I assure them they can both have a piece at the same time!!!!!

So we wait to let it cool, and finally, daddy cuts into it. All the chips have melted and sank to the bottom to give it a two layered cake look! "Oh man, that looks weird. We didn't do it right"

Does it taste good? I ask, YES! Did you have fun making it? YES!! Then there is nothing weird about it! Sweet Succes! Eat and Enjoy!

Well I was able to put together a portfolio and went on my interview! I had just woken up from my second sleep yesterday when I got the call, so I was still alittle fuzzy when I talked to her! I hadn't even had my cuppa tea yet!!! So she tells me how to get in the Convention Center, where to go and park, how to ask for her and all. I was a bit confused to say the least!!!! When I went, I followed her directions and parked where she told me too, I went into the doors where she told me to (in the belly of the convention center) I went and talked to the security guard as she had told me too! While I was being interviewed, another person arrived, she had us booked every half hour or so. Well, this person went to human resource!!! She said outloud? Why are all these people going to HR??? Don't they follow directions? I said quickly! I DID!!! LOL! Then in all honesty she confessed that that was apart of a test!!! To tell you where to go, how to get there and see if you will follow directions!!!!! I passed!! She loved me paintings, and I was also able to bring a newsletter and three-fold brochure that I had done for another company to show my computer skills! She was very impressed with those!!!! I have no answer as I yet....she was seeing several people today, but do know that two people who work for this company have highly recomended me so my fingers toes and boobs are crossed!!!!

Yes, I can cross these babies!!!!

In loving memory A Great Hero! She stood up for her rights and others, spearheaded the bus boycott that went on for over a year! The bus companyy was almost put under, thru rain, wind and storms they refused to ride! They built a network to help car pool and walked with dignity! This strong woman has changed a nation!

Well, I got a call from the convention center today. They want me to come in for an interview tomorrow. I AM SO NERVOUS!!!!!!!!!! She asked me, can you bring in your portfolio? Oh sure no problem, OMG!! I don't even have a portfolio!!!!!!!! I have scrambled today and found some pictures of three different weddings that I did all the flower arrangements for. I also have a card that I painted for my aunt to show my painting skills too. I have to go and get something to put them in. I am not even sure how I am supposed to do this??

My sister-in-law has asked me over and over again, whenever she sees something that I have made.........Did you get a picture of that? I would just say, no. She would encourage me to do so, you may need it for a portfolio someday!!!!!! Boy how I wish I had taken her advice now!!!

Wish me luck! I'm gonna need it!

Love Cycle

I love my husband! I met him in the "church" so there was a time when I doubted that we would make it. I wondered, "what if I had never been involved in that place, I would of never met him, I would of never married him" But I realized that, yes, I did fall in love with him, that yes, I do love him.

To be perfectfully honest with you there were times when I was not in love with him!! I believe love cycles, it goes through ups and downs. I also think there is a very thin line between love and hate!!! I am a passionate person, I feel and think deeply, too deeply in fact. But he has held on, he has loved me unconditionally, he accepts me and is always happy to come home to me. I am a very lucky person!!

He has asked me on occasion, what kind of day is it, is it a love day or hate day? :)

I am in love right now! I think he is a great guy, who is a wonderful father. He loves our kids and they love him so much! He has different views than me, our politics are so far apart, he doesn't even believe in gobal warming, oh the list goes on and on. Sometimes he makes me insane, but then he can just say something, or smile and my heart melts!

Big Reward!

Ricky has his last football game this week, so Rick went and got him his reward yesterday!

I am going to start from the beginning.....Last year I saw an ad for youth football and asked Ricky, would you like to play? He was nervous, "what if I don't like it?" I said well you'll never know until you try!!! The first three practices he LOVED it!!! Then they handed out all the pads and helmet! "MOM this is hard!!!!!" He came to me one night right before practice, "I am quitting, I don't want to play." I was sad, "you haven't even play one game yet?"

So I take him over to the field, lets talk to coach and see what he thinks. I tell the coach he is discouraged, he doesn't want to play.....The coach really surprised me, can you guess what he said?

He looked right at Ricky, You don't want to play? Ricky answers, no.......OK, did you bring all your equiptment to hand in? I was a bit shocked!!! No encouragement to continue, no why don't you want to play? Just Ok, hand in your stuff!!!!! So we left the field, I didn't have any of his stuff that night to hand in.

So I tell him, ya know Momma has been through alot in her life, but one thing she never did was quit!!!!! We are not quitters in this house. "Well, I am! I'm a quitter because I am not playing!"

Rick talked to him, he offered him some reward, it was a robot (Robosabien) that was $100!! I was even more shocked!!!!!!! I told him, I don't know if we can get you that robot!!! "Can I go to the toy store and pick out a toy?" Yes, sure. So he finished up and I thought that was the end of his football career!!! :)

So this year, he approaches Rick, "Dad, I really want this BeBe gun, how 'bout if I play football and then can I get it?" Rick was soooo happy, he goes to all the practices and is an assistant coach this year, YES!!! I can get you a BB gun, no problem!! So we sign him up, he plays and really is enjoying himself this year! Plus has done great too!

I find the robot that he wanted for $70 and got it for him for Christmas 2004!!!!!!

My boys are in the basement right now as I type, target practice with a new Crossman BB gun with a scope and all!!!! Ricky is ecstatic!!!

My sister in law's mother died. This woman suffered with diabetes, lost her sight, and her leg. She slipped into a coma and faded away after she had told Anne, I am so tired, I can't do this anymore. I feel bad for her family, but Anne told me that her estranged brother really came through at this time and they are all now speaking and supporting one another.
The memorial service is tomorrow morning. I asked Rick if he could meet me at the church, I hope he can do it. I will go either way, I love Anne.

WHOA!

Man, I know I live in Upstate NY, and I know we usually have about 9 months of winter, BUT wow, it has gotten really cold here!!!!! We have been spoiled with the hot summer and warm Fall. Ricky had a football game last night and whoa - was I cold! I made sure he had a sweatshirt on under his jersey, and he had his gloves too, I asked him, Are you cold? He nodded yes! The wind was blowing so hard, I thought, if there was any chance that something could fall from the sky it would not be rain!!!!!

One practice I went to pick him up, I was standing across the baseball field, behind a fence watching. I wanted to make sure he saw me, so when I saw him looking my way I waved. He waved but the coach yelled at him, "RICKY WHAT ARE YOU DOING???" I felt so bad.......I had gotten him in trouble! When he got in the car he told me, your love got me in trouble Mom!!! So now when he sees me on the sidelines, he just gives me a small wave with his hands down by his sides! He is really enjoying this year in football, he understands the game better this year and he will be getting a big reward for his great work!

I received Calla's 5 week grade report. She is doing GREAT!!!! I am so proud of her! All her grades are A's & B's! All except Spanish?? I am so confused as her average grade for two years has been 95% now it is 70-75%. This is her favorite course??? She has done so well for two years Spanish. I made a call to her counselor today. She also set up an appointment to see her, she said she does not like the teacher, she feels like he does not teach well. I have to believe something is going on considering how well she has done in the past.

We had to break down and put the furnace on. I am worried about our utlitlies. Rick said, we'll make it through, don't worry. That is hard for me.

Well I went to my interview with the florist today and I got the job!!!! It is strictly part time and holiday work but at least it's a start. She is paying what I think I need and deserve to make, so that is great!!!! I start next month to help with Thanksgiving, work the entire month of Dec for Christmas, and Feb for Valentine's Day. She seems very nice, down to earth and fun! I am excited about starting!! I am "on call" right now if she gets in a jam and needs help.

I baby sat my nephew today, he is such a sweet doll! He is learning how to color! Basically he takes the crayons out of the box and then puts them back in!!!!!!!! He loves Elmo so we watched Seasame Street! He was calling me Auntie!!!

My Angel

I am not sure how she knew, but my oldest sister came through for me in such a big way yesterday!!!! As I had mentioned I had a rough week (last week)

I get a call from her on Saturday and she said, I have a small gift for you, it's not anything big but it's a surprise and it's for you! I think you will really like it!

I almost cried on the phone with her! I told her, I've had such a rough week, can't believe you are even calling! She said, "you wanna know what it is?" I said, no- let it be a surprise!

It was a wonderful votive candle holder with 2 boxes of Party Lite candles! Wild Blueberry and Spicy Apple! These candles are not cheap! They burn beautifully though, each votive burns for 12 hours and the smell!!!!!!!?????

I was so happy yesterday, watching the NFL and burning my new candles! I made some great turkey soup with fresh baby peas and spinach! Fresh bread & butter, yummy soup and my house filled with great scents!! I hope this is a start of a great week for all!

National Football League

I love football, as you all know! I am just bewildered at what has happened in the season though.

Lets look at the Minnesota Vikings. The are coming off an 8-8 season last year with a trip to the playoffs on a wild card entry. Randy Moss and Daunte Culpepper hook up to score lots of points and they are a tough team. In the off season management decided Moss is too controversial, not the right chemistry as how they put it and he was traded to Oakland. Now the Vikings are 1-4, playing horrible, Culpepper has thrown a 4 touch downs and 10 interceptions in the just the first 6 weeks.

And now the sex scandal- 17 Vikings (do these men actually think they are the 'real' Vikings?) Charged with sexual misbehavior on a rented ship. Hmmm, Moss was not even there, he is in Oakland, but he is not the right chemistry for the team. Oh yes, much better to have sexual predators on your loosing team!

Then there is Ricky Williams. Now last year he quit the Miami Dolphins because he came up with a positive pot test. He did not play and Miami surely missed him last year. He has decided to come back this year, he is humble, he has apologized and taken his punishment with an 8 game suspension. Half of the games he could not play, the other 4 games he will play but the NFL will take all of his paycheck. He started today against the Bucs but came up short and Miami lost. Lots of people want to demonize him, saying Miami should not of allowed him to come back. I was rooting for him today! I hope he does great this year!

The Philadelphia Eagles are another team that I am like wtf is up with that? I have followed Donovan McNabb since he played for Syracuse. He is a great quaterback but this year is hurt. He needs surgery, but The Eagles have a- we still must play him because we need him- mentality. Why put your star in such danger to still loose? I think they should let him have the surgery and he would be able to come back for the last 4 or 5 games of the season. Better to get him healthy than risk him having a career ending injury.

Ok this is Lisa reporting from maceydoo.com! Back to you Jim........

NFL Week 6 Jets 17 Bills 27 I also saw that your team The Jaguars- Wanda pulled off the victory over Pittsburg! Haaa Haa!

Union

One for all, one for all
It's all it's all for one
Let's start a union, calling every human
It's one for all and all for one
Let's live in unison, calling every citizen
It's one for all and all for one

We don't want war- can't take no more
It's drastic time for sure
We need an antidote and a cure
Coz do you really think Mohammed got a problem with Jehovah
We don't want war imagine if any prophet was alive
In current days amongst you and I
You think they'd view life like you and I do
Or would they sit and contemplate on why
Do we live this way, act and behave this way
We still live in primitive today
Coz the peace in the destination of war can't be the way
There's no way, so people just be 'em wanna be a man
realizee that you can change the world by changing yourself
And understand that we're all just the same
So when I count to three let's change

Got no time for grand philosophy
I barely keep my head above the tide
I got this mortgage, got three kids at school
What you're saying is the truth, but really troubles me inside
I'd change the world if I could change my mind
If I could live beyond my fears
Exchanging unity for all my insecurity
Exchanging laughter for my tears

One for all, one for all It's all it's all for one
Let's start a union, calling every human
It's one for all and all for one
Let's live in unison, calling every citizen
It's one for all and all for one

I don't know, y'all, we in a real deposition
In the midst of all this negative condition
Divided by beliefs, different sink and religion
Why do we keep missing the point in our mission?
Why do we keep killing each other, what's the reason?
God made us all equal in his vision
I wish that I could make music as a religion
Then we could harmonise together in this mission
Listen, I know it's really hard to make changes
But two of us could help rearrange this curse
utilizingg all the power in our voices
Together we will unite and make the right choice
And fight for education, save the next generation
Come together as one

I don't understand why it's never been done
So let's change on the count of one

It takes one, just one
And then one follows the other one
And then another follows the other one
Next thing you know you got a billion
People doing some wonderful things
People doing some powerful things
Let's change and do some powerful things
Unity could be a wonderful thing

Should I blog? Or not? I've felt like shit for a few days now, mentally and physically. I have a cough and now it has moved up to my nose! Both interviews have been moved til next week.

One of my female bullies is in season and it is driving my male insane and in turn driving me to the point of utter despair and weariness. He sits in his cage and barks, and whines and wants out, but Lulu is not"'ready" most bitches will have a day or two when they are fertile and they will allow the male to sniff around them ....No not Lulu, she is not wild about Mac and she's just as soon tear into his ear than have him near her! You should see him approach her, ears all back with such a sweet face on, she is having no part of it! So I've been dealing with that for the last three days....

My husband suffers from migraines. I thankfully have never had them, but am very familiar with them. I was just thinking it had been awhile since he had one and boom today, funny eyes, sick to his stomach and then pain in his brain. It started early this morning, he was able to take some tylenol codeine but stayed at work. There was a time that he would have two a week, when he got home I made him a roast beef hoagie and he went to bed.

At least there will be football on tomorrow

Had Enough

Ricky had a physical today with his pediatrician. I forgot to save a pee sample this morning so they made pee in the cup when we were there.

"Here ya go buddy, pee in the cup and leave it in the white cupboard"

"I don't have to pee right now Mom"

"Don't worry as soon as you get in there you will, you see the white cupboard door? Leave it in there"

Now there was a white cupboard above the toilet that looked like it held supplies, I made sure he knew the right white door to put his sample in!

"How'd ya make out?" I asked him when he came out.

"Well, I didn't get alot in the......(I thought he was going to say cup) BOWL!!!!" It went in the cup and all over the floor! Don't worry I cleaned it up and washed my hands!"

So they call us in and check his eyes, ears, blood pressure, weight and height. Then lead us into the small exam room. I began to read him a Brer Rabbit book and was half way through when the intern came in. He checked Ricky's heart, ears, mouth, stomach and back. He asked him questions about his diet and exercise. He promised the doctor would be in, in a few minutes. I went back to reading the Brer Rabbit book and finished the entire thing, not a short book I might add. I was so sick of waiting, I told him get dressed, we are leaving!

"Mom, how can we leave, we haven't seen Dr. Robinson yet?"

"Well, we have another appointment" Which was not far from the truth, considering he had homework to do, eat and be on the football field for game tonight by 5pm!

When he was dressed, I opened the exam room door and there stood the intern, I think he had overheard us talking and looked surprised that we were really going to leave! He stammered, Dr. Robinson will be right with you, in just a moment! I asked him what time is it? I almost died when he told me 2:48!! Our appointment was at 1:15!!!!!

I went to the check out counter "sorry we have another appointment we have to leave now" the receptionist was frazzled. Can you wait here for a moment? So we stood there and she promised the doctor would be right with us. I waited another five minutes in the hallway, then gently tapped Ricky on the shoulder and we left!!!!!! I had made this appointment over 7 weeks ago! It's not like we just showed up and asked for a physical. This kind of thing happens everytime one of my kids has a physical and I am fed up!

We got into the car and I was giggling......."why are you laughing, Mom?"

"Momma was a bad girl, she didn't wait for the doctor!!!"

Bad Boy

Rick has taken the last two days off. He was not feeling well on Sunday night, but I think he stretched it a bit by not going in today! When I got home from work, I got the kids ready for school and on the bus and went upstairs to find him sleeping in bed.

I told him, you are a naughty boy! I took advantage of the situation though and he helped me get my kitchen in order!

It has gotten cold here, I am afraid to turn on the furnace though, they are threatening us with a 30-70% increase in utility bill. We did break down and turn on the heat though, pretty miserable when you feet are cold all day and night!!!!!

I made chicken enchiladas for dinner, yum yum! Clean kitchen helps to cook good dinners!

Tragedy

There is a big controversy that is going on in our community. A entire football team has been suspended from school (high school) because they broke the rules about being around underage drinking.
I am appalled at the way the newspaper has been covering this story, not coming out with all the facts.

Taylor has always been a dancer. He is 16 and has trouble in high school making friends. He decided to have a party to win people over from his school. Over 250 kids showed up at his house. The football team entered the house and within minutes started a rampage and trashed the young man's and his mother's home. Threw the TV on the floor, broke lamps, and basically ruined their living room. The police were called, his mother came home to find the mess and was beside herself. She didn't know what to do, should she send her son to boarding school?

The young man knowing that he didn't win any friends, felt so ashamed, he walked out into one of our expressways and is now in the hospital in a coma, with a smashed pelvis, punctured lungs and swollen brain.

The entire football team has been suspended ending their football season this year, endangering some of the boys scholarships to college. The newspaper has not linked the two events together, they just keep printing how can the school be so strict? Was it fair to suspend children that were not drinking? Never mind the fact that this young 16 year old man has been tormented his entire high school life, not "fitting in" to the norm of jocks and cheerleaders.

I am sick about this young man. Where is the tolerance? In the year 2005, aren't we teaching our children that everyone is different yet we are all human beings? Aren't there resources for young people to come to terms with their sexuality, drug use or sex in general?

This is a very rich and well off area of Rochester that this has happened. Well educated parents raising prejudice brats!

*Just a side note here.....Everyone involved in sports at this particular high school signs a contract stating that they will not be in the vicinity of underage drinking. If it's known that at a party there will be alcohol, they are not supposed to go. Several of the boys have stated that they did not drink, but they also signed the contract saying they would not be around underage drinking. Parents are very upset, but the school has stood firm.

NFL Week 5 Miami 14 Buffalo 20 Rick's brother is a Miami fan, he invited us over for a football party to watch the game! We had lots of fun and laughs! Good Time!

My father is sick. He has facial dystonia which effects movement in your face. It causes uncontrollable movement of muscles in your body, his being in his face. It started about 8 or 9 months ago, in his eyes. He would flinch his eyes, open and shut them and had no control over them. It has since moved down his face and now is effecting his mouth. He is having trouble speaking, he drools, and has a hard time keeping his food in his mouth when he is eating.

My father and myself have had our difficult times, but I am just heart sick about how this is effecting him. He is very depressed, when he gets the nerve up to speak I have to really listen closely and I still don't understand much of what he is trying to communicate.

They use botox to treat this illness. It freezes the muscle so they won't twitch. He has had four treatments so far with little success. The next move will be them going into his throat area with a scope and injecting the botox into his larynx and the inside of his throat. This next treatment will be in Dec because you have to wait three months between each set of shots. The last treatment in Sept. they wanted to go into his throat but he was scared and told them to just put the shots in his face. Ten shots to his face, five on each side, and it didn't help.

I communicate with my father through the internet most of time. Through emails and IM's. I was shocked on Labor Day when I saw him. He is still his prickly self online! You have to be careful of him and what he can say to you! I find myself guarding my heart from him most times or he can slice me with his words. He is my father and I love him dearly, no matter what hard times we have had. I feel sick to my stomach at how ill he is, how this has effected him, and there is no cure.

Drenched!!

OMG!!!!! We all got so wet standing out there in that field last night! I had an umbrella and even wore my fashionless poncho, but the rain was coming down sideways!!!!!! My jeans were soaked in the back, and down by my feet the were so wet that it started soaking around to the front! By the end of the game I was so cold, I just sorta stumbled back to my car!!! A very nice parent bought the boys hot chocolate at half time to warm them all up! They were sooo wet! They won though!

I got a call from the convention center last night for an interview! I am so excited!!! Two interviews this week! I hope something comes through for me! I will stay with the paper route til the end of the year (if I can make it!) Christmas time brings a big bonus for me and I would hate for someone else to get it after I have been delivering almost the whole year! I figured it out today too, I've been doing this route for 4 years! Man where has the time gone?

It's my Dad's birthday today and we are having a party at my sister's house. I spent almost a half hour trying to find him a card. Why do all the birthday cards have things like, Dad Thank you so much for your support and acceptance of me through the years? I should start a new company for greeting cards!!! I would design one that says something like, Dad, sorry I never lived up to your expectations, but I do love you and wish you a happy birthday!

They Were Right

Well, the rain and the cold did come our way. I was just watching CNN and can not believe how freakin big this front is!!!! I think it goes from Upstate NY all the way down to Washington DC, plus they say it is going to "linger" over us for at least til Sunday. What a drag!!!!!

I will be going to Ricky's football game tonight, in the cold and the rain! We stopped by the dollar store and got all of us those rain poncho's......Oh what fun, I can't wait to make my fashion statement!!

Getting Ready

Well I ordered some new shoes today from Landsend. I need a pair of nice shoes in case I am hired to work in the flower shop or at the convention center. These look like they will be comfy, yet dressy enough to wear with slacks or even a skirt. I just tried to get a pic of them, but couldn't! I ordered them in black and they are a nice slip on leather.

I have just worn sneakers or my winter boots for work for three years now, so I need to start to get my things in order.

I was able to send my resume to the convention center today, the girls mailbox was full yesterday and it would not go through......which kept me puzzled for hours!!!!!

I know a few people who work at the convention center and have wanted to join them for awhile, I am glad an spot has opened up for me. I am hoping good things will come!

Time For a Change

Well I am so done with my current job. I have been doing this paper route for three years now, everyday of the year, having to find a sub if I am sick or want a day off. Now the gas prices are soaring, I am so just sick of it.

There were many pros when I considered this job, working while my children slept was the major one. Not having to pay for day care and giving 40% of my check away every week tends to sway your decision making quickly. Also I doubled my monthly income. Ok, lets see, I make such and such working in a flower shop, and now I am working just about the same amount of hours and making double what I used to make....That decision was not hard.

I am a floral designer, I have worked in the field for many years. I know how to run an entire flower shop, from processing flowers, to dealing with customers, making funeral arrangements and even dealing with brides. I know how to take and send wire orders using FTD or any other wire service a shop may have. I have slaved many, many hours for holidays and felt like I was chained to my bench for many Valentine's Day.

I loved working in a flower shop, it is alot of work, but really did enjoy it. I just never made any money. They want to pay you some ridiculous amount of money per hour, like less that $7 and take taxes out too!!!!! My last shop I worked in was pretty abusive as the people were so old, they hated being there, and in turn took it out on all of us. I was not looking forward to being in a shop anytime soon. Well, that has been three years ago now.......

I saw a ad for a floral designer in a small paper about two weeks ago. I called and talked to a girl who promised to call me back several times. Finally yesterday I did a reverse look up online using the phone number and found out where the shop was located. I dressed and went over to talk to her in person. I have an interview set up for next week. I am going to ask for a good amount of money per hour. I have over 15 years experience behind me and I will work hard for her. I deserve to be compensated for my work, if she does not want to pay me, I am not going to take the job. It is just not worth it to me.

Some of my friends wanted me to become a nurses assistant. I know you can make good money doing this job, but one major problem is......I hate hospitals! As soon as I walk into an hospital the smell hits me in the stomach like a punch to my gut. How can I work in the medical field when I hate hospitals? No, I don't think that would be a good choice for me.....

I talked with another person today about working at the convention center, helping to set up banquet halls for weddings and parties. I hope something comes through for me soon.

Homecoming

My daughter's school had Homecoming this weekend after their first home football game. She asked for $5 to buy her ticket and was exciting about going.

Me, being 41 years old, thought, Homecoming (as homecoming queen and king) fancy party type dance. So I asked her, "what are you going to wear?" She had said, "I think I'll wear my pink dress." This dress is a sweet little silky chamile type dress with white netting over the top of it. Three small silk flowers decorate the front.

On Saturday night the whole time she is getting ready she is in a panic, "Is this too dressy? They said it was casual." I assured her, "You look beautiful and look, you're going to wear your pink flip flops, that makes it casual." I French braided her hair and took her over to the school.

Now this was held at the high school, she is in a separate building right now as a freshman. So we get a look at what the girls are wearing.........Jeans and Tanks!!!!!!!!!

"OMG Mom!!!! I think this is too fancy!!!" But she sees her friends waiting for her at the door so she gets out and goes over to them. The first thing one of the girls says is...."Look at you, uuu, you're alittle overdressed!!!!!"

I pull away and and now I am in a panic!!!!! I felt like I had just sent her out into a pack of wolves to tear her up with their cruel words!!!!!!!!

So then I have a thought, I can bring her a change of clothes, hmmm, should I? Or will she be OK? I get back home and tell her Dad, they were all dressed in jeans and tanks!!! He said, "Lisa, girls do not wear dresses anymore!!!" So I get her jeans and a sweater together for her and go back over to the school.

I walk in and ask if I can find my daughter Calla, the girls says, sure go ahead. I go into the gym, it's all dark, I see a bunch of kids doing that grinding dance but can not find her!!! On my second swoop through I see her standing with her friends. I went over to her and just touched her back, hey I said softly, and motioned her to follow me away from her friends.

"What is wrong? Is everything OK?" she asks me quite confused! I say, "look I brought you a change of clothes, it's up to you, if you want to change fine if not that is OK too."

She made me so proud! She said, I'm OK Mom! She stayed in her frilly dress and had a good time! I told her, I love you Calla! Have Fun!
